Hurt.

Coming off an inspiring day last weekend, this week has been a nonstop parade of shit. Let's talk about movies and celebrate the good news. Luke Ciancio had a birthday and Chaybee (Brahm) has an album out in just a few weeks and Josh Pearlman continues to be awesome and Cait Cannon got some new crockpot recipes and Adam Riske found that $5 bill in the pocket of some jeans he forgot about (maybe?) and now we can all finally find out how that Resident Evil franchise is going to end. So I guess it's not all bad.

Hundreds of thousands of women are marching today, every one of them a badass.

If, like me, you're unable to attend one of the marches happening all over the country this weekend, let someone know that you're there in spirit. Celebrate badass women everywhere by watching His Girl Friday or Gun Crazy or Erin Brockovich or Switchblade Sisters or any number of movies I could mention. And come back here to talk about the things you're watching, the things you're thinking about, the things you love, because that's what we need more of right now.

Also, I did not make the above collage. I would not include Lara Croft (not because she's not strong or something, but because I don't dig those movies) or Milla Jovovich as Joan of Arc because I've never seen The Messenger. Naturally, I would include Milla Jovovich from Kuffs.

This was a fun week of "best of" lists and everyone getting sick of La La Land. It was also a pretty terrible week in the U.S. at large -- the first of many to come, I suspect. So many things this week. New trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming and War of the Planet of the Apes, both of which look great. We're a week out from Star Wars: Rogue One. Past podcast guest Jackson Stewart's movie Beyond the Gates is out in limited theatrical release and on VOD now. It's still my favorite horror movie of the year and Jackson is the best so you should all support it this weekend.

What do you guys want to talk about?

Side question: what's the movie that made the best possible use of an existing song and claimed it for its own forever? Bonus challenge: no Scorsese, Tarantino, Cameron Crowe or "Sister Christian."

No matter what happens, this is going to be a historic week. There's a presidential election, we're coming off our most successful #ScaryMovieMonth ever, Tyler Perry's Boo! A Madea Halloween has claimed the top spot at the box office for two weeks in a row. What's everybody watching for the last few days before the rapture?
